Gary Carter began his educational career at Imperial Beach Christian Academy in San Diego, where he was a teacher/principal for eight years. He then pastored in Texas for 14 years before joining the faculty of Texas Bible College in Lufkin. Rev. Carter served at TBC for 17 years in multiple roles, including vice president and president. He holds a Bachelor of Theology from Apostolic Bible Institute and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Hope International University. Gary Carter is a gifted minister and teacher who inspires others with his godly leadership style and passion for Christian education.
Savanna Smith has been married to her husband, Kevin, for one year. She is originally from Temple, Texas, but moved to Lufkin five years ago to study music at Texas Bible College. Mrs. Smith graduated from Texas Bible College in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Ministry and minors in Theology and Christian Counseling. She looks forward to teaching in the classroom and encouraging students to grow in the talents God has given them. She’s also excited about the opportunity to share music in the LCA chapel, individual music lessons, and other areas.
Becky Haverland has been married to her husband, Rodney, for 42 years. They have two grown children, Justin, who works at Carroway Funeral Home, and Julie and her husband, Nick Allen, who both teach at Central Jr. High. Mrs. Haverland earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Stephen F Austin. She taught 36 years in public school and two years in a private school in the following subjects: 6th grade World Cultures, 7th grade Texas History and Language Arts, 8th Grade American History and Athletics, 6th-8th Special Education, 9th Grade Honors History and Careers Exploration. Mrs. Haverland loves teaching and encouraging young people to grow in their studies and their walk with God.
